Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site remember something between one page and the next. This page lists every cookie we use and what it is for.
You are in charge of all of them except the essential ones. Nothing that measures your visit or shows you our offers runs unless you switch it on.
How we ask
The first time you visit, a notice appears at the bottom of the screen with three choices: accept everything, decline everything, or choose for yourself. Declining is as easy as accepting, and it costs you nothing — the whole website works either way, and the notice does not block the page.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie Settings link, which is in the footer of every page.
The cookies we use
Essential — always on
These make the website work. They cannot be switched off, and they never tell us anything about you as a person.

These count visits and show us which pages people read, so we can make the site better. We see patterns across all visitors, not individuals.

Marketing — off unless you allow it
These let us show our hotel offers on other websites, and tell us whether those adverts led anyone to book.

How your choice is respected
We use Google's consent settings, which start in the "denied" position for analytics, advertising, advert personalisation and advert data. Nothing changes until you tell us otherwise. If you decline, those tools stay switched off; they are not loaded quietly in the background.
Turning them off in your browser
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies for any site. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Be aware that blocking the essential ones means we cannot remember your age answer or your cookie choice, so you will be asked again on every visit.
Information sent overseas
If you allow analytics or marketing cookies, the information they collect may be processed by Google outside New Zealand, including in the United States. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle that.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie we will update this page and change the date at the top.
